When do you need a tow?
Engine failure
Engine cut out, or won't start again? We'll come out, take your boat in tow and get you to safety.
Rope round the propeller
A rope or net caught in the propeller can stop a boat dead. We'll tow you somewhere you can sort it out calmly.
Broken rudder or sterndrive
If you can't steer, it's safest not to carry on. We'll tow the boat to a harbour or boatyard.
Sailing boat with no engine
Auxiliary engine given up and the wind dropped? We help sailing boats into harbour too.
To a boatyard for repairs
We know the boatyards in the archipelago and can tow your boat straight to one that can fix it.
Planned tows
Need to move a boat without a working engine, say to the boatyard before winter? Get in touch and we'll plan it.
How boat towing works
Call us and tell us where you are, what kind of boat you have and what's happened. We'll let you know when we can be there, then head out as quickly as we can.
When we reach you, we'll make the boat fast and tow it at a steady pace to the harbour or boatyard we've agreed on. While you wait:
- Make sure everyone on board is wearing a life jacket.
- Drop anchor if you can, so the boat doesn't drift towards the shore.
- Keep your phone charged and switched on so we can reach you.
- If anyone's life is at risk, call 112 and ask for the sea rescue service.
Common questions about boat towing
How much does boat towing cost?
We have fixed prices through our agreements with Sjöassistans and Team Marin. Otherwise, the price depends on where you are and how far the boat needs to be towed. Call us for a quote.
Where will you tow my boat?
Usually to the nearest harbour or to a boatyard that can repair it. We know the boatyards in the archipelago and will help you find the right one. If you'd like to go somewhere in particular, just tell us when you call.
Do you tow sailing boats?
Yes, we help sailing boats too. When you call, tell us what kind of boat you have and how big it is, so we can plan the tow.
What should I do while I wait?
Put on life jackets, drop anchor if you can so the boat doesn't drift, and keep your phone switched on. If anyone's life is at risk, always call 112 and ask for the sea rescue service.
